Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ student lands dream Caribbean job through global consulting challenge
29 July 2026
A Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ graduate has landed a “once-in-a-lifetime” job in the Caribbean through a global consulting challenge involving the University’s three campuses
Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾’s campuses in London, Dubai and Mauritius brought students together for this year's global consulting challenge, a module that places cross-campus teams with a live client based in another region.
Running from January to April 2026, this year's module paired students from select undergraduate Business programmes with Caribbean Elective, an organisation based in Saint Lucia, with Esuri Bandara serving as the project's partnership manager.
The collaboration has already produced a fantastic outcome for one student Arati Raut, who completed the module. Arati, who graduated this year with a BA in Business Management (Finance) from Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ London, has now been offered a role with Caribbean Elective, the organisation her project team worked with.
"This journey has been nothing short of an adventure and a very practical learning experience."

In its first run,15 selected students on the module coordinate across three time zones and differing academic calendars without meeting in person, using digital collaboration tools to manage projects and deliver consulting outputs.
The module is designed and led by Sabrina Akbar, Senior Lecturer in International Business at Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ London, with Rory McConnon, Senior Lecturer in Management at Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ Dubai and Vikram Gungah, Lecturer in Business in Mauritius forming the cross-campus teaching team. Students who complete the module receive a joint certification from all three campuses.
Following the module, Caribbean Elective offered Arati a position as Business and Enterprise Facilitator, a role in which she supports local entrepreneurs and guides business students through their own placement projects.
Arati, who is originally from Pokhara in Nepal, said: "This journey has been nothing short of an adventure and a very practical learning experience.
“My learning from the module has been a fundamental tool in my job here, helping me navigate the process of building a business strategy and supporting students.
"One of our clients here is a 30-year-old cruise company, and we are currently working on a business strategy for them. We had the opportunity to experience one of their tours where we aimed to collect 100 feedback to reach a scientific sample size. This was an unforgettable day in every sense — professionally rewarding and full of adventure.
“I coordinate business and, at times, politics students in their day-to-day placement activities, making sure everything on the ground runs smoothly.
“I've had the pleasure of meeting some incredible people across the Island through a politics placement — from a former Prime Minister, the Tourism Minister, and the Speaker of the Parliament, to serving ambassadors from the UK and Mexico, and everyday champions from Saint Lucia such as local economists, the Youth Economy Agency, and the Director of a Transit Home. We still have so many exciting visits coming up.”
Arati has also thanked her module leaders for “making this once-in-a-lifetime experience possible” and Esuri, partnership manager at Caribbean Elective, who saw her potential and referred her to the role.
Rory McConnon, the module's Dubai-based tutor, said: "This module works because our three campuses genuinely work as one. Students in Dubai, London and Mauritius are addressing the same opportunities for the same client at the same time, and that kind of collaboration is exactly what prepares them for global careers."
Dita Mazalová, an Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ Dubai BA Hons International Business student on the module, said: “What made this journey especially meaningful was the teamwork. Coordinating across time zones, balancing our studies, work, and delivering everything fully online required a level of collaboration that is rarely taught in classrooms.”
Divya Napaul, a Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ Mauritius student on the module, said: “This project helped me grow not only academically but also personally. It strengthened my ability to adapt, collaborate, and think strategically in a real consulting context.”
