I have carried out Action research for my MA and an evaluation of a public health learning resource.Ìý


Current Teaching

I am currently Year 3 Programme lead for BSC Nursing (Child)Ìý and MDX Practice lead for Health Visiting (HV) and School Nursing (SN)Ìý placements.Ìý In relation to this I am currently facilitating a working group with colleagues in practice regarding updating learning resources for students inÌý HV and SN placements.Ìý I am also anÌý Academic AdvisorÌý for a cohort of students

I currently teach on and module lead for the following modules:

CYP 1802: Foundations ofÌý Scientific Principles for CYP Learning

CYP 1803:Ìý Foundations of CYP Nursing KnowledgeÌý

I also facilitate V100/V150 nurse prescribing updates for prescribers in Health Visiting and School Nursing teamsÌýÌý

Biography

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Primary Care/Child Health.Ìý I hold the following NMC registered nursing qualifications:Ìý Registered Nurse -Adult; Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse; Teacher; Community Practitioner Nurse Prescriber.Ìý My academic qualifications are:Ìý BA Health Studies; PGDip Community Health Care Nursing; PGDip in Promoting the Health of Young Children; PG Cert HE; MA in Work Based Learning Studies (Education for child mental health).

Prior to coming to Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ University in January 2005 , my roles included: Staff nurse on a dermatology ward Queens Medical Centre Nottingham, Advisory Officer for the Stroke Association.Ìý I haveÌý also hadÌý Health Visiting roles in the following trusts: South West London Community Trust, Broxtowe and Hucknall Primary Care Trust and Crawley Primary Care Trust .

I have a particular interest in public health, particularly the promotion of mental health in the infant, child and young personÌý Ìý
