Christian Friedrich Spittler (1782–1867) founded the Chrischona Association on 8 March 1840 as "Pilgermission St. Chrischona".
During its history of more than 177 years, Chrischona International has developed into a diverse association. It brings together Christians, communities, and organisations in a unique combination, creating a rich spiritual heritage.
