Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ University student charter
Created with students. Lived in partnership.
Our shared commitment
Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ works best when students and staff build it together and when learning prepares us to thrive in a world that keeps changing.
We're a London university, rooted in one of the most diverse boroughs in the country, with a practice-based approach to teaching and a student community that brings the whole world into our classrooms. That's not a backdrop. It's the substance of who we are, and this Charter is built on it.
This Charter is grounded in the MDX Graduate Competencies - the skills, mindsets and ways of working that run through every course, and that we believe every Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ graduate should leave with. It's a living agreement, co-created with students and reviewed in partnership, year on year.
Our shared principles
We are united by a commitment to:
- Partnership and co-creation
- Employability and future-readiness
- Inclusion, empathy and belonging
- Curiosity, ambition and lifelong learning
- Civic, professional and global engagement.
Together, we will
Whether we're students, staff or part of MDXSU, we share the same starting point. Together, we'll:
- Treat each other, our neighbours and our communities with respect and dignity
- Cherish difference, and build a Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ where everyone feels seen, heard and able to thrive
- Not tolerate harassment, discrimination or sexual misconduct in any form, and use the routes we have to challenge it and keep each other safe
- Talk honestly with each other even when it's hard, especially when it's hard
- Work in partnership to shape what Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ is and what it becomes
- Celebrate what our community achieves, and study and work in ways that respect the world around us.
This Charter is Â鶹TVÍøÕ¾ University and MDXSU saying the same thing: we're here to develop confident, capable, compassionate graduates equipped with the MDX Graduate Competencies to make a real difference in their careers, communities and the wider world.
We sign it as partners. And we mean it.
